US small business growth, without hiring a fourth agency.

Plenty of US small businesses aren't short of help. There's an ads agency on retainer, a freelancer for the website, a CRM nobody updates and a scheduling app, and the business still runs through one inbox: the owner's. We work on the gaps between all of that. Diagnosis across the whole business, then the fixes, then running it month to month.

What usually goes wrong

  • Expensive leads, slow replies. Paid clicks in the US cost more than almost anywhere else we work, and a lead that waits two hours for a reply has usually called someone else by then. Speed to lead is the cheapest fix in the building. See leads not converting.
  • More software than systems. HubSpot for one thing, GoHighLevel for another, a spreadsheet for the rest, and Zapier holding it together until it doesn't. Fewer tools that the team actually uses beats a stack nobody understands.
  • Reviews left to luck. For local service businesses, Google reviews and Yelp decide who gets the call. Asking for them should happen automatically, not on the weeks someone remembers.
  • Revenue up, margin down. Card fees, subscriptions, contractors and discounts creep up quietly. We look at profit by service, not just the top line. See operations and finance.

The proof, and where it comes from

The work on our Work page was done for owners in the UK, the Gulf, Germany, India and Australia. The problems were the ones US owners describe: leads that cost too much, enquiries nobody followed up, stores with traffic and not enough orders. A UK telecare service took its cost per lead from $41 to $4 over eighteen months. A portfolio of e-commerce stores turned $159K of ad spend into $327K of sales. The headline figures there are in US dollars, with the original currency alongside.

Hours, money and the practical side

  • Doha doesn't change its clocks. New York is eight hours behind us in winter and seven in summer; Los Angeles is eleven and ten. Your 9am on the East Coast is our late afternoon.
  • Calls happen in your morning. The work happens while you sleep, so you often wake up to something finished rather than waiting on it.
  • No US office, and no pretending otherwise. Everything runs remotely: WhatsApp, email, video calls and shared dashboards.
  • Invoiced monthly in US dollars.
  • US English on your site and ads. Text follow-up set up with consent and carrier registration (A2P 10DLC) in mind, and email that respects CAN-SPAM.

What the first three months look like

  1. The first few weeks. Access to your ad accounts, analytics, website, CRM and inbox, one call with you, then the audit: where the money is going missing, in plain language, ranked by what it costs.
  2. Month two. The first fixes, usually the reply time, the follow-up and the website, because they're cheap and they make every marketing dollar work harder. See CRM and follow-up and websites.
  3. Month three onwards. Running it: marketing, automation, reporting from your own dashboards, and the awkward conversation about pricing when it's due.

Three levels of involvement, Asteroid Core, Asteroid + VA and Asteroid Management, explained on the engagement page.

Is this you?

Established, owner-led service businesses and online stores: clinics, home services, trades, agencies, e-commerce brands. Real revenue, real customers, and a nagging sense that the business should be making more than it is. If you're comparing us with a US agency, read which agency you actually need first. We'd rather you hired the right thing.
